The workshop is based on the adapted materials of Elena Aguilar's methodology, a teaching coach and a published author of the book "
The art of coaching: effective strategies to transform schools", as well as on the online learning experience of "Introduction to Coaching" organized by Teach for All. Workshop organizer Edith Soghomonyan has participated in that training in February-March 2022 and will share her experience during the workshop.
Workshop objectives are:
- Introduce workshop participants to the coaching art and discuss about the opportunities provided by coaching for the professional development both in ordinary and in critical circumstances,
- Introduce participants to the coaching tools,
- Provide them with the coaching practical skills that they can use right away in their work
The workshop will consist of 2 parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part will be covered through a slideshow followed by Questions and Answers session.
After that the participants will be divided into groups, to allow each of them to participate in a coaching roleplay: as a coach, as a coachee/client, and as an observer.
This workshop is the kick-off of a bigger program, aiming to institutionalize coaching in education, as an effective way of continuous professional development. To do that, the Center for Educational Research and Consulting has developed an entire action plan to enhance the collaboration ties with various potential stakeholders, including NGOs, private and public universities.
We are ready to connect and establish collaborations both with social partners (to include their beneficiaries in our workshop), as well as with donor organizations and/or private companies, interested in investing in this program in any way, both financially and with their time/resources.
